This page explains how to delete your VaultMotive account and the personal data associated with it. You can delete your account from inside the app, or request deletion by email without signing in. For how we handle personal information generally, see our Privacy Policy.
Delete your account in the app
The fastest way to delete your account is from your account settings. In the VaultMotive app or on the web, go to Settings → Account → Delete account and follow the prompts. You will be asked to confirm your password.
Request deletion without signing in
If you cannot sign in, email privacy@vaultmotive.app from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. Include the account email so we can locate it. We verify your identity before actioning the request, and we respond to verified requests within 30 days (extendable where the law permits).
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, it first enters a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the deletion by signing back in. After the grace period, your account and the personal data we hold as controller — your profile, your uploaded content, and the records you created for your own use — are permanently removed from our active systems.
What we retain
- Encrypted backups. Data removed from active systems may persist in encrypted, access-controlled disaster-recovery backups until they naturally rotate out, within 30 days. Backups are used only for disaster recovery.
- Records required by law. We retain some records where the law requires it — for example, audit and security logs (up to 7 years) and financial records such as invoices and payments (retained per tax and accounting law). Free-text personal details in these records are removed on a bounded schedule.
- Data controlled by a business. If your information is in VaultMotive because a shop, broker, or other business recorded it, that business — not you — controls that data. Deleting your personal account does not remove those records. Direct deletion requests for that data to the business first; we can help forward your request.
How long it takes
In-app deletions complete automatically after the 30-day grace period. Email requests are verified and actioned within 30 days of a verified request. If you have questions about deleting your account or data, contact privacy@vaultmotive.app.
